Spring Term 2014
Throughout Lent, we have been learning about Change. We spoke about how we change as we get older, how we can learn new skills and also how the seasons and weather change. During our Mission week, we took part in lots of special activities such as KETT with Mrs Bradshaw, a Palm Sunday procession and we also made special bracelets to remind us of the different stories in Holy Week. All of our pictures are below.

PC Lisa visited us this week and told us lots about the job of policemen and women and what we should do in an emergency. Look at our photos below!

Lots of us in Year 1 wrote stories and made some models for the Eisteddfod. Have a look at the photographs of all the entries below.

We visited Maindee library on Tuesday morning. Tracy the librarian told us all about the library and that we can join and borrow books all for free!!  Have a look at our photographs below!

Our topic this term is "S is for... " and the children have had lots of ideas such as:
  • sharing
  • ships
  • stories
  • sand
  • sea
  • snow

Our RE topic this term is Meals. We have been talking about when we share special meals with our families on birthdays and at Christmas. We made our own placemats, decorated biscuits and shared a class "meal". Have a look at our photos below!

We had our first Infant String Project session this week with our String teacher, Miss French. She taught us lots of fun songs and games. We also learnt about the violin cases and how to get the violins out safely. Then we found out how to hold the violin properly on our shoulders. It was really fun! Take a look at our pictures below.

The story we have been learning this week is the Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch and we made sandwiches for Mr Grinling. See our photos below.
